Phoenix 22 – 5

Orange is my wife’s favorite Color is an interesting element in formal works. Rothko and the other color field painters explored the element extensively. Creating palette and palette on top of juxtaposition and more juxtaposition, eventually becoming so dialed into the power of color that they could speak volumes with seemingly the bare minimum of other structure. We still use their language and don’t even think about it. Palette We all have a distinct color palette preference, some people even make a career out of guessing popular color trends. Typically we love primary colors, can’t help it for the most part.  Secondary colors are usually more partisan. Tertiary colors often balance or support the others and can make or break an argument. Own Phoenix 20

I want you to own my work. If you’ve been waiting to own this series, now is the time. I’m reducing the cost of owning the 1/1 works from the Phoenix 20, from $5100 to just $500. Appreciation The goal is simple. Get my work in the homes of people that will appreciate it. Once this happens I can do the hard work of appreciating the value of Phoenix 20 by  producing the subsequent series. Phoneix 22 is being produced currently and San Francisco 20 is now in the planning stages (Fall 2010?). I thought I’d wait until the value of the work caught up to me, however I’m finding it more and more distracting to have an entire catalog …

Phoenix 21 Home Exhibit Winners

The Home Exhibition was a great success. Thank you to all that participated and spread the word about this project. I said prior that the only way it could fail is if fewer people participated than I have images to display. And Phoenix really came through, with more than double the amount of entries than works! This caused a small dilemma for me as I wanted everyone who participated to have an exhibition. So I assigned everyone a number and used Random.org to decide which homes would become exhibitors of the Phoenix 21 series. Winners Announcement of the Phoenix 21 Home Exhibition winners in order of selection: @SamuelIsaac Chose image #7 from below. Exhibit dates TBD. @EricaLucci Chose image #1 …
